Blinkers have undertaken rigourous development and testing to ensure that teh Blinkers we sell contain safe levels of restricted materials as defined in the European Union Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) 2002/95/EC. From the manufacturers: "By restricting the use of such materials in our products we can assure you that our products are 100% RoHS compliant, and safe for our environment.
Our Safety Blinkers comply with current legislation.
While only a very small contribution, we have done what we can to ensure that our products can be recycled, to help in solving the problem of huge amounts of toxic waste that we have in the world today.

What is the RoHS Directive?
The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) 2002/95/EC took effect on 1st July 2006, and is designed to restrict the use of hazedous materials in electrical products.
It seeks to reduce the impact on the environment by restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in goods.
The RoHS Directive is complementary to the Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive.
What does this mean?
With effect from 1st July 2006, all electrical goods (including Safety Blinkers) put on to the European Market must NOT contain any of the six restricted substances in amounts exceeding set maximum concentration levels (certain exceptions can apply).
The six restricted materials defined in the RoHS Directive are: Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)), Cadmium (Cd), Polybrominated biphenyl , flame retardants (PBB), Polybrominated diphenyl ether flame retardants (PBDE)

The symbol shown here and on the product packaging means that the product is classed as Electrical or Electronic Equipment and should not be disposed of with other household or commerical waste at the end of its working life.Please Recycle your Safety Blinkers
Disposal Instructions: When you have no further use for your Safety Blinkers please dispose of them correctly. Remember that they are recyclable!
Please remove any batteries and dispose of them and the product as per your Local Authority Recycling process."
